No More Traffik.

By Gillian Kane

No More Traffik (NMT) is an anti-trafficking NGO based in Northern Ireland, UK. It was established in 2012 and since then, has been engaged in vital work across Northern Ireland, where modern slavery and human trafficking continues to be a problem.

No More Traffik is ‘a movement of people and communities committed to stopping modern slavery and human trafficking’.

No More Traffik’s work falls into three main strands:

  1. Advocacy: NMT works alongside other key stakeholders as a member of the Northern Ireland Department of Justice’s NGO engagement groups.

  1. Awareness Raising: NMT facilitates awareness raising events, which are volunteer led. Previous events have included film screenings, music events, and political forums.

  1. Frontline Professional Training:  NMT is engaged in training frontline professionals to spot the signs of modern slavery & human trafficking. To date, NMT has conducted training with police officers, border force agents, midwives, social workers, and homeless community support workers, to name a few.

In recognition of the vital and valuable work undertaken by NMT staff, trustees, and volunteers, NMM has named No More Traffik as Hero of the Month for May 2021.
